See Disney's Tarzan the Stage Musical presented by Moonlight Youth Theater

In 1999, Disney released "Tarzan", a heart-warming movie about a boy raised by a tribe of gorillas who learns that humans and animals can share the same feelings on life.  The most popular hit from the movie, "You'll Be In My Heart" by Phil Collins can still be heard on the radio sometimes today.

I was excited to learn about Disney's "Tarzan the Stage Musical" at the Moonlight Amphitheater in Vista, CA.  I wanted to expose my son and nephew to something different other than having their noses buried in their iPads and Playstations, MUSICAL THEATER!

It was a gem of a place.  As you enter you walk under these arches of twinkling lights.

The outdoor tiered seating arrangement leaves no bad seat in the house.  You can even bring in your own food, grab some lawn chairs and picnic with your family beforehand.  My son ended up spreading out our blanket, laying on it and gazing up at the stars at times.  No one minded if kids were in their pajamas and chattering a bit.  I actually loved that families can feel comfortable in bringing their young ones to enjoy a professional stage production!

You can also purchase refreshments at the Artisan Cafe.

It was truly an unique theater experience! I was so impressed with the whole production: the costumes, the lighting, the scenery, the choreography, the orchestra and the talent of this musical cast! Visit Moonlight Youth Theater's site to see what future productions are in store.

Other performances this month for Disney's "Tarzan the Stage Musical" are October 16, 17, and 18 all at 7:30 pm.  You can purchase tickets here.

Disclosure: We received complimentary tickets to this event.  All opinions are my own.
